Call for Web Art
The Graphical Web:The Graphical Web is an annual, global conference featuring new technologies of art and science that utilize open standards for presenting visual information on the web. The conference showcases best practices, new opportunities and future directions in the fast-changing world of web graphics. The event draws a broad range of attendees, from those who design and implement web standards, to artists, journalists, and data scientists, keen to understand the potential of new technologies that enrich storytelling on the web.
We invite the submission of art that has been designed for display on the web. We particularly encourage artwork that uses contemporary open standards such as SVG, HTML5, CSS3, and WebGL. Acknowledging the current popularity of the use of Animated GIF, submissions will also be accepted in that format. Work will be reviewed by a panel of jurists, having over a century of combined experience with web-based graphics.
Submissions should be sent via email containing:
Submissions should be emailed to: Caron Carnahan, info@graphicalweb.org, and contain the subject line: “The Graphical Web Art submission.”
Accepted work will be exhibited at the Fairmont Pittsburgh, in the conference common area. Installation will take place on September 22, with the exhibit on view from September 23 – 25.
